School Lunch Program
St. Augustine Catholic High School will NO longer be participating in the the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
As a result of feedback from students and analysis of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), we have decided NOT to participate in the NSLP program this school year. Unfortunately, in following the NSLP guidelines less than half of our students were willing to participate in the program, and many would not eat the entire meal offered.
This year we will be changing our menu items to provide more of what we believe our students want to eat. We will post the menu around school and as well as emailing it to you on a monthly basis.
NEW ORDERING PLAN
This year we will be instituting A MEAL PLAN program where you sign up for one of the Meal Plan options available and we will bill you accordingly on a monthly basis. To access the Meal Plan options, click on this link to sign up.
All meal plans must be selected in advance to ensure that enough food is prepared for all.
Meal Plan Options:
FRIDAY ONLY MEAL PLAN: You are billed only for the Friday pizza days that month.
EVERY DAY MEAL PLAN: You are billed for every day of the month that lunch will be served.
MEAL COSTS:
Our meal cost is $4 per meal. By not participating in NSLP, we cannot offer the full free or reduced meal, as we will be incurring the costs without reimbursement. However, we can offer a reduced price for those families that would typically qualify for NSLP benefits. Please reach out to Ms. Gonzales for more information.
Reduced Level 1- If your family would typically be eligible for free lunch your meal price would be $1 a meal.
Reduced Level 2 - If your family would typically be reduced price eligible then you would pay $2 a meal.
You will have to pre-qualify with Ms. Gonzales by answering some questions as to your family size and income. Only Ms. Gonzales and the accounting department will know if your student is receiving a reduced cost meal. The lunch staff will not be made aware of your status.
Please note:
- There will be no reimbursements if the student is sick or does not pick up a meal.
Please make sure your student is aware that he/she has a meal waiting to be picked up. By signing up for one of the meal plan options, you will be agreeing to pay the amount according to the plan selected and your qualification status - Your student also has the option to bring his/her own meals from home. We have several microwaves available for heating food.
- Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. We look forward to seeing your student(s) in the fall.
