President's Message

President's Message

Dear St. Augustine Community,

I am deeply grateful and humbled to begin my service as the President of St. Augustine Catholic High School. Having served in Catholic education for more than 16 years as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent, I am honored to step into this role to continue the important work of forming young men and women of faith, intellect, and service.

For more than two years, I have been blessed to be part of the St. Augustine community, where every student is known and valued as an individual, and where our faculty and staff walk alongside students in helping them discover and achieve their God-given potential. As a seventh-generation Tucsonan, I am especially proud to call this community home. My husband and I are grateful to be raising our two children here, surrounded by the same spirit of welcome, tradition, and faith that I see every day on our campus.

Next year, St. Augustine will celebrate the graduation of its 25th class- an extraordinary milestone made possible by the vision and dedication of those who came before us. Together, we will continue to build upon this legacy, ensuring that our students are not only prepared for college and career, but also equipped to lead with courage, compassion, and integrity in a rapidly changing world.

To our students: know that you are the heart of this mission. Your energy, curiosity, and dreams inspire us all. To our families, faculty, staff, alumni and benefactors: I invite you to join me in partnership as we carry forward this important work, united in our commitment to faith, excellence, and community.

I look forward to working alongside each of you as, together, we shape the future of St. Augustine Catholic High School.

With sincere gratitude,

Melissa Lopez-Gruenhagen
